There is no short list of things the AI is allowed to touch. Every action in this editor is a command the agent can call — so it moves clips, sets keyframes and writes captions on the timeline in front of you, and you take over at any point without switching modes. Hand it the tedious pass; keep the taste for yourself.

The editor underneath
Video, audio, text, overlays and effects on as many rows as you need. Trim, split, ripple delete, magnetic snapping, and a canvas ruler that stays smooth with thousands of clips because only what's on screen is ever mounted.
Every property of every element is animatable, with real easing curves and a graph editor. The preview holds a steady 60 frames a second while you drag a handle, and it does not stutter because a panel decided to redraw itself.
Transcribe on your own hardware, then cut the video by deleting words. Silence removal, filler words and styled captions all come from that one transcript — and none of it needs a connection.
Masks, chroma key, colour grading and every transition run as GPU shaders — with a declared CSS fallback so a weaker machine degrades in a way you can predict instead of dropping frames.
There is no “preview quality” and “final quality”. The same engine draws the frame you are looking at and the frame that lands in the file, so the export holds no surprises. Render the same project twice and you get the same bytes.
Lugh Xtudio doesn't ship its own chatbot, and there is nothing to sign up for. It opens a door on your machine that any assistant speaking MCP can walk through — so you keep the one you already pay for, and the day a better one arrives you keep that instead. On macOS, Windows and Linux.

You keep the editor open and talk to your assistant in its own window. It calls the same actions the buttons call — split a clip, set a keyframe, add a transition, write the captions — and you watch each one land on the timeline. Every step is one undo away, and you can interrupt it and keep editing by hand at any moment. (For the technically minded: it connects over MCP.)
No. You can edit everything by hand, or connect an assistant that supports MCP — Claude, ChatGPT, or a local AI setup with MCP support. A paid AI subscription is optional; any provider fees and usage limits depend on the assistant you choose.
No. Import, transcription, effects, preview and export all happen on your machine. The only thing that ever goes out is the update check and, if you use one, your own assistant talking to the provider you already pay. Being able to verify that yourself is the feature.
Nothing is counted and nothing is blocked — the agent runs unlimited. What a licence buys is the clean file. Anything the agent touched carries a mark across the whole frame, in the preview as well as the export, so you can judge the cut, the rhythm and the colour honestly before you decide to pay. Anything you edited by hand exports clean, free.
Nothing runs on our servers, so keeping you as a customer costs us nothing per month. A subscription would be a price we charge because we can, not because there is a cost behind it. You get one year of free updates; after that the app keeps working forever on the version you own, and renewing is optional.
